...Live to have fun with CB!

Adria Raceway 25/06/2006

We have already an idea from some time that "our girls" have to come back to Italy, but this date has arrived truly with suprise and when, by the time... we have no more hope.

There has been some problem that I don't stay here to mention, but ok at the end only a few days before we have the official confirmation!

Well, just a couple of hours by car away from home, almost all not motoreway, but not so much traffic here, in a very hot Sunday afternoon, in the (probably) hottest week-end of the sunmmer that surely don't invite to travel, and I'm at the Adria Raceway at about 3pm right in time, as the gig is scheduled at one hours later.

I already came in this lands a couple of years ago, and is truly in the midle of nothing, there is only the raceway, some canals and cultivated fields.

Just arrived i go near the stage and I discover it is terribly situated in the middle of an area with cement floor and entirely under the sun, not literaly the ideal place to play in an afternoon of the end of June!

I immediately see Ida and Klara that are on a side of the stage in one of the rare zones on the shade and then I greet them, then I ask and they say that probably they won’ t don't start to play before 5pm.

I take a beer to refresh my throat a bit and in the meanwhile Mia arrives, we greet, and then is time for the soundcheck.

I seat now in the shade while it start to arrive some more people, ok, I see the soundcheck from the back, but there is a terrible hot under the sun and I prefere to stay here seated.

Finished the hard work complicated by the hot, after a short time the girls leave with a little van, probably towards the hotel to refresh and make up themselves for the concert.

In the meanwhile, after a bit, comes on stage the band from Bologna, called Markonee that try to call some people under the stage, but the hot is so torrid and the most part of the audience prefere to stay under the tents searching some cover and me too, I stay here in the shade searching refreshment.

Their show last only thirty minutes, more is impossible to do, and seem to be interesting, even if they are too much melodics for my tastes...

The guys come down the stage exhausted for the hot and now we wait anxiously for the girls to come back.

After a short wait the little van reappear and then I reach the stage, as quite all the people do that (they are not so much but enough considering the situation and the location) and I have to stay in the right side just near one of the two side speakers.

Another short wait and, towards a quarter past five the girls are on stage, and start, nearly careless of the heat, with "Play Me Hard" that is, by then an habit, the intro at the rest of the gig with its power.

The public is not very thick but however is too hot it makes some noise.

The girls drink only whater (strange, isn’ t it?) and Nicki have a motor-fan on the side of the drum, however is hard to find so much confort, as they said they are Swedish and are not so used to such temperatures.

The concert run away for about fifty minutes, following a well known script, offering us a great part of the album and the cover of the Kiss song "Shout it out Loud", as well as the brand new song "Burned to be evil", that is a good start for a future new album.

Some break more than usual to get one's breath back between a song and the other, over all is Nicki that work on entertain the audience that answer well and also a cloud come, even if for a short time, to help us.

Nicki start to tell us something strange regarding the fact that that the day before they were in France near one of the biggest nudist camp, maybe having the need of strip herself cause of the hot, but, clearly, it’ s not possible to do that.

Mia tell us that after the show they will remain here to drink some beers with the public and then arrives the end with "R'N'R Bachelor" and "Losing the Game" after that the girls go off of the stage exhausted...

It's enough to make some noise and the girls return back on the stage for the more classical of the ends, proposing us "Killed By Death" and ending, this time definitively, the gig.

Just the time to take a new beer and the girls come out and place themself on a table, immediately sorrounded by almost all the people that was at the concert.

We wait a moment giving time to the fans to take some signatures or pictures, till finally the people around them thin out and we approach their table.

A little surpised to see the Picture Disc that a friend of mine have taken to sign, then we start to talk with them, that, as usual, are a lot accessible.

We make a couple of shots with them, and, after a while Ida and Klara ask to be taken to the hotel, tired over all for the hot and then eagers of a shower, and then we remain here at the table with Mia and Nicki that spend here with us some more time, till abour 8pm when, by that time all is closed and the bar of the raceway don't sell more beer.

They go to the hotel and we at the research (difficult here!) of a pizzeria to sutisfy our hunger and then towards home cause tomorrow, sigh, we have to work.

We greet with the hope they come back to Italy soon, however we'll go London in November  to see them with Motörhead, we cannot miss it, but there'll be so much time to wait after three months really full of appointments!
