The Birth Of The Band The name Crucified Barbara was born in 1998 when -at Rockslide Festival in Denmark- Ida, Klara and Joey (at the time band members) saw an infiatable doll (barbara is the term normally used in Sweden to describe it) nailed to a cross by some guy and -finding its symbology interesting- decided to adopt it as the band monicker. CB history starts in the second half of the 90's in the outskirts of Stockholm when Ida (bass) and Klara (guitar) started to play together but the band began to take its proper shape in 1998 when Joey (the first singer) and Nicki (drums, with a past in a hard-core band) came aboard and CB started to play all around Stockholm. In 2000 they performed one of their songs in a tv commercial for an insurance company. In the same year they played at "Hultsfred Festival", one of the biggest and most prestigious swedish festivals 2001 was a crucial year, with the entrance of Mia (who already played in various bands, the latest one -named Hatework- was a thrash metal combo) the current line-up was formed Between 2002 and 2003 they played all around Sweden and in almost every rock club in StockholmIn 2002 they signed a publishing deal with Warner/Chappell and recorded a two tracks demo with Conny Bloom (of Electric Boys fame and current Hanoi Rocks' guitar player) at the control board. Due to rearrangements within the band, Joey left CB in 2003, and Mia became the new singer. In spring of 2003 they recorded another demo, this time produced by Mankan Sedenberg and, at the end of the year, they signed a record deal with GMR Music Group a Stockholm' s independent label. So in spring/summer 2004 they entered in Pama Studios to record their debut album, again with the production of Mankan Sedenberg. Born as a punk/rock band, with the years CB have developped a powerful metal sound, the frequent comparison to Motorhead -even if it fits- do no justice to the freshness of their offer.
In Distortion We Trust The 8th of december 2004 saw the swedish release of the first single "Loosing the Game", that reached position n. 8 in swedish charts, that' s the prelude to the album "In Distortion we Trust" released the 19th of january 2005. The 25th of may 2005 came out the second single from the album "Rock 'n' Roll Bachelor". In summer 2005 they started to tour, they played important festivals like the Sweden Rock and at the Download Festival in the UK, but they also touched Italy, France, Denmark and Belgium. During the year the band record a song with American Dog; following Motorhead and Girlschool' s footsteps, they release a cover version of "Please Don't Touch" that later would be included in the Motorhead Tribute CD released by the french label Bad Reputation in December. The year 2005 finish with the win of the prize as best emerging band of the year assigned by the swedish rock radio station P4 Dist. The year 2006 start with their first real italian tour and, on the 26th of january, there' s the release of their 3rd single extract from the album, "Play Me Hard". During the italian tour there' s also the announcement of the band presence at june' s italian Gods of Metal. In March the girls are invited to open the first five gigs, all in Scandinavia, of the european tour of two great band such In Flames and Sepultura and, then, in April go away for a long tour that go across a lot of country in Europe, first in France, then in Belgium, Holland, Germany and Austria endling passing on Russia before a long number of summer festivals across the continent, included Sweden Rock Festival and the Gods Of Metal in Italy, playing also in Australia in October. At the end of May is published also in the States their album "In Distortion We Trust", under the label Liquor&Poker, while in Europe, GMR Music publish a version LP Picture Disc of that in limited edition of five hundred copies. In November the Crucified follow Motφrhead and Clutch into a tour in Great Britain, that ends in London at the Brixton Academy, where Phil Campbell play with the band during "Killed By Death".
'Til Death Do Us Party After that tour the band take a break and start to work to the second album, going out for some gigs also during 2007. After they opened the english tour for Backyard Babies, the long work will give its fruits at the end of the 2008 when the first single for the brand new record has been released, "Sex Action", followed by a video, waiting the full length, called "'Til Death Do Us Party", that will come out on the 11th of February in Scandinavia and on the 27th in all Europe.
