...Live to have fun with CB!

Venice Rock Festival 22/07/2005

Just returned from our swedish vacation I saw the program of the very first edition of a new festival foreseen to be released in Venice. Immediately I noticed a weekend with 4 scandinavian bands: friday with CB and Private Line, the day after Hanoi Rocks and Psychopunch.

Having the confirmation of the CB presence we decided to go, we took half a day off from work, put the tent in the car and we set out towards Venice in a torrid july' s end afternoon. We camped in the camping just a few meters out of the concert arena.

There was an unsettled weather, it promised nothing good, we entered and took a look around; the area was enormous, it could house thousands of people but it was nearly desert.

There was many stands with food so we went to the pizzeria counter to order something to eat,  we walked to the tables and... we saw Mia and Klara at a table... we ate our pizzas then -armed with cd booklet, pen and camera- we approached them. Just a few moments later we've been reached also by Nicki and Ida and we let them reach the backstage only after a couple of pics and the booklet signing.

We draw near the stage and reached the front line, unfortunately there was not a lot of people. In spite of that, and of the fact the the majority of the audience never heard them before, the girls played with the usual boost. Once again the show was quite short but intense.

Just the time to prepare the stage and it was Private Line' s turn. Unfortunately their performance was spoiled by the rain, at first was just some raindrops but soon it changed in a heavy shower that forced the festival's organization to stop the PL show for their own safety.

It seemed a bad conclusion for the evening but it was enough to move to the main marquee of the festival to find the beer-party promised by Mia at the end of their show. With both bands very patient and helpful, especially the girls, we drank, talked, drank, laughed and... did I already mentioned we drank? After hundreds of photos and questions, after 2 or 3 hours the girls were forced to go to enjoy a well-deserved sleep!

Look at some fine pics, taken by photographer Alex Ruffini at Venice Rock Festival on his web site:
